#MuseoRimaconFebrero is a campaign that allows you to visit 15 museums throughout Spain for free

We have attended the presentation of the Rhyme Museum campaign with February (#Museorimaconfebrero) which aims encourage the visit to the exhibition halls of the museums of Spain. At the end of the article the rooms that participate in the action are indicated. And the challenge is to increase the number of people who visit museums by focusing on the opportunities they offer regarding learning, entertainment and active participation. From the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports they have launched this campaign that is supported by a set of videos on the YouTube channel with the desire to ensure that the campaign has great visibility from social networks, mainly Twitter and Facebook. In addition, from Facebook you can launch the application that allows anyone to print a coupon to visit any of the 15 museums that participate in the promotion for free. Children enter for free! (and those over 65 as well).

And it is that museums are not only for people with higher education level, or they have to go mostly women and no, they are not a place where people who go have glasses. So we can all visit museums and have a great time. Of those who participate in the promotion we have been in a lot of them doing family workshops, learning a lot and enjoying the visit. In Peques y Más we have talked about the Museums of: Costume, Cerralbo and Sorolla, so I hope we can soon expand the list.

The image shows the facade of Museum of Romanticism, which is where the presentation of the campaign was made, and from which I came out fascinated by its content, its details and its beauty. It is a must see and it is the first coupon that I will get from the Facebook page. On the coupon we were told that it was not necessary to print it so it will always be easier and more ecological to carry it on your mobile or tablet and show it at the entrance.

The campaign lasts the entire month of February 2013 and seeks to promote the visit to the 15 open museums dependent on the General Sub-Directorate of State Museums and located in different cities of Spain. The participating museums depend on the General Sub-Directorate of State Museums of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and are:

  • In Madrid: Cerralbo Museum, Museum of America, CIPE Costume Museum, National Museum of Anthropology, National Museum of Decorative Arts, Museum of Romanticism and Sorolla Museum
  • In Santillana del Mar (Cantabria): Altamira Museum
  • In Valladolid: Cervantes House Museum and National Sculpture Museum
  • In Toledo: El Greco Museum and Sephardic Museum
  • In Valencia: National Museum of Ceramics and Sumptuary Arts "González Martí"
  • In Merida (Badajoz): National Museum of Roman Art in Mérida
  • In Cartagena (Murcia): National Museum of Underwater Archeology ARQVA

So we congratulate the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports for the initiative and hope that they will continue to carry out additional actions for a long time. Our children will thank you very much when they grow up and appreciate the effort made.
