Five keys to finding a quality time with your children

I am one of those who do not believe in the amount of time versus quality time. I believe that quality time is all that we spend with our children, although we are not doing anything specific with them. Simply being together already seems like a luxury.

It is true that with the way of life that we live, there are few moments that we share with our children, and less those that we are with them exclusively, playing or talking without TV or mobile phones in between. Those moments in which we truly connect are very necessary, and we must look for them, even if they are only ten minutes a day. Let's talk about how to find a quality time with your children.

The bedtime story

No matter how old they are. Read a while together before bed It is a precious time to connect with our children. Whether with a book or an invented story, telling them a bedtime story is a perfect excuse to share quality time with them. Through stories we can get to know them better, talk about their fears and their emotions.

It's only a few minutes before sleep. No TV, no cell phones, no iPads, or anything that interferes. Leave the kitchen to accommodate for later and enjoy that golden moment with your children.

Breakfast, a special moment

If at night it is not possible, breakfast is another ideal time to share 15 or 20 minutes with our children. If you do not have them, I recommend that you advance the alarm a few minutes because it will be worth it.

The children are calmer and more receptive, so in addition to the nutritional benefits of having a good breakfast at the beginning of the day, use that time to talk about what each day holds for you.

Dinner without TV

It is not possible in every house, but we must try. Sit together at the tableAt least once a day is essential to improve communication with our children. Therefore, if it is not possible in the morning, unless it is at dinner time. We don't have lunch because it's the most complicated time.

Sitting at the table with the family at the end of the day, without TV or mobile phones nearby is an exercise you should practice. It is time to communicate, talk about how the day went, worry about each other, listen to others and express our feelings so that our children also learn to express them.

Assembly in bed before sleep

Another good time you can share is at night, in the big bed before sleeping. Once they are wearing pajamas and brushed teeth, you can make an assembly at the end of the day.

The end is the same. Leave out the worries of the day, forget about electronic devices and focus only on our children. Take the opportunity to talk about how the day went and deepen the emotions they have had. If you think it's a good idea, set goals for the next day (collaborate in housework, help my sister with homework, solve that rifirrafe with the classmate, etc ...), always according to the age and responsibilities of the boy.

Any time is good

Finally, if you are not constant, you have impossible work schedules, or you do not have the possibility of finding a space free from distractions every day, any time you share together is good.

Whether it's a walk in the park, the drive (or walking) from home to school, or while playing with the Playmobil, any occasion you are together is a good opportunity To connect with your son.

I hope that with these tips you find a quality time with your children. I recommend that you make the effort because although all the time we share with them is really important, those Connection moments with children are very positive for communication between both.
