Keys to proper infant feeding

Food is very important for all people, but more so in childhood because at this stage of life it is essential for proper growth and development.

The ideal diet for children consists of a balanced diet, which in addition to promoting their growth will help them acquire healthy habits for the rest of their lives.

The child's diet should be varied, balanced and proportionate both in quantity and quality. Food should provide you with the calories, protein, vitamins, minerals and other principles necessary for your developing organism.

The child has to learn to eat everything, but always in moderation. Let's see some keys to take into account in infant feeding for children from 1 year.

  • The recommended daily rations are:

2 daily servings of fish, eggs, chicken and legumes 3 daily servings of milk, cheese, yogurt and olive oil 4 servings of fruits and vegetables 5 servings of bread, pasta, potatoes and cereals.

  • The recommended drinks for children are water, milk and natural juices. Soft drinks are not prohibited but must be reserved for special occasions, not for every day.

  • Maintain good hydration.

  • The sweets, in moderation. All children like to eat a bauble from time to time. Sweets should not be eliminated from the diet but sugar, chocolate, ice cream and candies should be an exception in the diet and not a rule.

  • It is always better, as far as possible, food prepared at home to industrially prepared foods. However, resorting to a little baby from time to time in the case of babies, for example, is a valid alternative as long as it does not become usual.
