Little People turns 50

I was surprised to know that the little Little People celebrate their 50th anniversary. For me they were a new discovery of the generation of my daughters (who love them), but I did not know that they had also entertained children of several generations. In fact I have never played or heard about them (maybe I am a kind of alien).

What I think is that when some toys are still valid for 50 years, it is because they certainly have a special attraction among the little ones.

The Little People family was born in 1959 with characters that gradually improved until they reached the current models, the legendary play sets of Fisher Price with their School Bus and their farm.

Precisely to commemorate the five decades of existence of Little People, a new version of the family's characteristic farm has been reissued that always has "a great plan."

When they were born, the dolls were made of wood and in 1968 they began to be made of plastic, the material that replaced the wood almost completely in the manufacture of toys.

Today, the first toys of 1959 such as the mythical School Bus are real collectibles valued at more than one thousand euros and it is estimated that since its birth no less than a billion and a half dolls have been sold.

Through toys and the children's series, the characters entertain the children by teaching them basic concepts such as shapes, letters and numbers while instilling values such as the importance of friendship or solving problems as a team. Perhaps its simplicity is the real key to the success of the little ones.
