A grandfather misses school and as a child

Yesterday Lola told us about the slave grandfather syndrome and on more than one occasion we have remembered those grandparents who, for various reasons, and among them the delay of the average age of couples when having the first child, are dedicated to the care of their grandchildren with an advanced age that makes them have some of their abilities somewhat diminished.

Something like that seems to have happened 3 days ago in the Basque Country, when a grandfather went to a wrong school to pick up his grandson and ended up taking another child.

The family of this child, seeing that he had disappeared, immediately alerted the Ertzaintza which initiated an investigation that culminated two hours later, when they discovered that in a nearby school there was a second child, the real grandson, whom no one had gone to look for.

The agents contacted both families so that each child could finally stay with their relatives and the story ended well, although with a good scare, sure, for the two families.

The school handed the child to the unknown grandfather

Is tremendously serious than a school (probably a nursery, since the child is one and a half years old) deliver the child to an unknown grandfather. The most common is that at the beginning of the school year they request the name and surnames of the people who during the course could go to pick up the children and, if one day an unknown person comes, ask for the DNI to verify that it is a of authorized persons.

However, this security measure did not work and an unknown grandfather eventually took a child who was not his grandson with whom he spent two hours until the mess cleared up. It is important to think about the safety of our children upon leaving school (although it does not surprise me too much, since there are days when we are going to pick up our son, a new teacher this year asks us the name of the child we come to look for… ).

The grandfather did not succeed even one

That the school gave a child to a stranger is a serious mistake that should be used to modify the way of acting at the exit, but almost more serious it seems to me that a person unable to know in which school is his school comes to pick up a child grandson and, what is worse, unable to realize that the child he picks up is not his grandson.

No less than two hours had this good man on the sidelines to realize that the boy who was with him was not his grandson and, apparently, he should not have noticed, because he had to be the Ertzaintza who resolved the disappearance case.

This also leads us to think about the mental state of our elders and how far they are trained to take care of our children. I do not say that grandparents are not able to bear this responsibility, since most enjoy good health and a lot of predisposition, but as I have said on other occasions, sometimes you find yourself "domino" grandparents pulling a stroller and, the truth , the image is a clear reflection of how strange the functioning of our society sometimes becomes.
