Summer recipe: strawberry lemonade to prepare with children

The holidays have already begun and now we have much more time to spend with our children and enjoy thousands of activities together, learning from each other and recovering the time lost during the year, especially for those who work and have little time to spend with the children.

One of the things you can do is cook, apart from fun, it can fill us with almost a whole morning of work, between going to buy the ingredients, choosing them, discovering smells, flavors, learning to distinguish between ripe fruit and green fruit ... Today we are going to propose a cool recipe for summer days: strawberry lemonadeIt is also healthy and full of vitamins (especially vitamin C. And, why not, for the elderly, you can turn it into a great cocktail.

At home we have taken advantage of the fact that this morning has made a bad day and we have gone to the market, we have bought some red strawberries that looked great (we have eaten half the way home) and some organic lemons from the garden of a village peasant .

Ingredients for strawberry lemonade (for 6 people)

Juice of 3 lemons 2 1/2 cups / 350 ml of water 3 tablespoons of agave syrup (failing that you can use brown or white sugar or honey) 450 gr of strawberries (and a little more to decorate)

Preparation

  1. Crush the strawberries with the lemon juice and agave syrup (or sugar) at high speed until a smooth texture.
  2. We put it in a jar and add the water. Mix until it is well mixed and put it in the fridge until it is very cool.
  3. We serve it in a glass with ice and decorate with strawberries on top.

Little trick

To make the lemon of the maximum juice, we introduce it in the microwave for 10 seconds before squeezing it. If you like more lemon flavor you can add a couple more lemons (4 in total) and a little more agave syrup.

How to prepare strawberry lemonade with children

  • We sit the children in front of a small table and put on an apron.
  • We give them the lemons so that they roll them by pressing lightly to soften them and so get more juice. (the lemons that weigh the most are the ones with the most juice)
  • An adult cuts them in half and the child can squeeze them into the juicer.
  • We let them introduce the juice, strawberries and syrup into the blender glass and, putting the safety lid and being an adult in front, we let them press the beat button.
  • We let you try it, maybe it is a bit bitter for the lemon, in that case we add more agave syrup, if it is very sweet, we can add a little more lemon. Let them decide how they like it!
