North bonito recipe with special tomato for children

One of the meals that I remember with more joy when I was very young was the nice tomato that my grandmother prepared every summer when both the tomato and the beautiful are in full season. Therefore, I try to keep the tradition doing it to my nieces, (although my son, who is already an adult, still reminds me to do it every year). So get ready to inaugurate a new family tradition with this recipe for bonito from the North with tomato adapted for children.

The recipe Does not contain onion or green peppers, usual ingredients of the traditional recipe of bonito with tomato, but it is equally delicious and will please both children and their parents. For the kids, it will be enough to chop the bonito well so that no thorn can appear, and enjoy seeing how well they eat it.

Ingredients for 4 portions

  • 1 slice of northern bonito of 700 g that we will ask the fishmonger to cut it into tacos, 6 ripe tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 4 tablespoons of olive oil

How to make bonito del Norte with special tomato for children

The first operation is to review all the tacos de bonito, to remove some thorn That may have happened to the fishmonger. Once well cleaned, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and fry the bonito very lightly in a pot with the four tablespoons of oil. We use a pot because there we are going to cook the tomato afterwards and so it will not splash the kitchen tiles.

Once fried each piece of bonito, we will remove it for later. It is convenient to leave the pieces almost raw because then we will finish them when cooking in the tomato sauce and so the beautiful will be very juicy. If we fry them a lot, it will be dry and the children "they will be ball"when eating it.

In the same oil where we made the bonito, - this is essential - we fry the tomatoes cut into pieces. We do it on medium heat for 5 minutes and then lower the heat letting be done slowly for another 30 minutes. Add the teaspoon of salt and the tablespoon of tomato and leave another 5 minutes, trying to see how it is.

Finally, we put the tacos of bonito that we had fried in a saucepan and on it, we passed the tomato sauce covering the pieces slightly. We heat the bonito of the North with the tomato for 5 minutes and we have it ready to enjoy in the company of our children.
